YAYO: A lot of people only know you as “Brian” the nerdy Bassist from the tv-show “Gilmore Girls”. But you actually do a lot more than just acting. Can you tell us a bit about your worklife?JOHN: Sure. Well, it’s very different than it was 4 years ago during the height of the show, that’s for sure. I’ve found my work life shift very far into the area of writing and producing. I guess it started in 2006 when I began pitching a project that I would ultimately sell to Warner Brothers and spend 2 years developing with them. These days I spend a lot of time in front of the computer writing new stuff… or driving to pitch meetings around town. But my work life seems to go in cycles. I remember that the late ninties were similarly a lot of “in house” projects. Then I sort of launched into the field all of a sudden with my directing and acting projects of the last decade. May 17th, 2009movies&TVYesterday Russia hosted the 54th annual Eurovision-Songcontest. With a Budget of 42 Million € the host presented us the most expensive and one of the best shows in the history of the Eurovision.

After Cirque de Soleil opened the evening, Dima Bilan flew on stage to perform last year’s winner-song “Believe”. In 2008 Russia already spent a fortune on the Songcontest hiring Timbaland to produce their song and a famous Russian Violinist as well as a famous Russian figure skater to enrich the Dima’s live performance.
Finally it worked and Russia got the Eurovision to Moscow for the first time. And the evening brought us another first time: The official voting was opened directly from the russian space station ISS!
In little clips Irena Ponaroshka tried to teach us about Russians in joking about stereotypes, Read the rest of this entry »

January 2nd, 2009movies&TVI bet I wasn’t the only person confused by Alicia Keys and Jack White performing the “Quantum of Solace”-theme song.
So what is this about? I figured it out! Or at least I made myself an explanation up:
The 007-theme songs including its performers stand for the individual development of the main character.
As James is in Casino Royal very impulsive and cool but a bit rough, also are the the song “You know my name” and performer Chris Cornell.
Now in Quantum of solace James changes and gets torn inside. On one side is the more expierienced and classy James (represented by Alicia) and on the other side the branded kid that sometimes acts unpredictable or seems out of mind (represented by Jack). This is reflected in the new theme song “Another way to die”.Let me know what you think.
